John Evans, our LandWISE Board Chair, and partner Kai Tegels talk to us about their experiences of arable farming in mid Canterbury, and what years of careful rotation management and biodiversity enhancement can do.

Kai has a strong farming background, coming off a research farm in the Netherlands, and was running a rogueing company in Canterbury which now has scaled back to just potato rogueing. Recently retired from farming a 270ha irrigated block producing specialist seeds and arable crops in Dorie, John and Kai are now focussed on biodiversity enhancement projects on their smaller farm near Ashburton.
